About the Project
TEREEE-Technical Education in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency aims to improve the quality of education and employment for young adults in Egypt.
This is done by rehabilitating the buildings and equipment of the supported technical schools and Centres of Competence and by upgrading the technical and non-technical skills of teachers and students in order to offer labour market-relevant, high-quality and practice oriented technical training programmes in Egypt.

Establishment of 3 Centres of Competence in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Menia, Aswan and Sharqiya

Rehabilitation and modernisation of the learning environment of 20 Technical Secondary Schools, operating it using solar energy

What is a "Center of Competence" (CoC)
The CoC is a hub for knowledge and experience in the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RE/EE) sector that provides
technical support to the private sector and training highly qualified professionals and technical experts.
In this way it contributes to the implementation of the strategy of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and EGYPT vision 2030, meeting national and international market needs with respect to Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.
The CoC maintains a close exchange with national and international universities as well as training and research institutions in the field of Renewable Energy.
The educational concept includes a new, modern and international learning and teaching methodology applying 21st century skills. It is based on the application of “work-based learning” and “learning in the process of work”.
The CoC certificates are recognised and accredited by national and international organisations.
